The ISO 18587 standard sets the requirements a post-editor must have to perform substantial post-editing: language and content translation skills, ability to retrieve and understand information, cultural and technical skills, and expertise in the sector related to the contents being post-edited.. Light PE is recommended when a company needs to process the automatic translation of content for internal communication purposes with its offices located in multiple countries. The goal of this service is to offer understandable text.
SubstantialPost-Editing
On the other hand, a substantial PE is recommended for the post-editing of external communications, that is, content intended for clients, suppliers, etc. The goal of this service is to provide text that, in addition to being understandable, is also correct from a stylistic point of view.
