Eurotrad's Greek translation services

Given the high heterogeneity of the subject matter, good Italian-Greek translations require the use of native translators as well as competent proofreaders. At Eurotrad, we use only the best professionals to ensure you get a translation job of impeccable quality.

Professional Greek to Italian and Italian to Greek translation services

Modern Greek is spoken by about 15 million people, mostly concentrated in Greece and at Cyprus but there are substantial language pockets in other European countries as well, such as Albania and Turkey. Not to mention the discrete migration phenomenon that has also brought a large Greek community to the United States and Canada.

We are talking about a language that is only distantly related to classical Greek and that is characterized today by a very simplified grammar and many differences in pronunciation. What does not change is the alphabet, which retains many common elements (and some differences) with the Latin alphabet that underlies Italian.

This is the starting point for performing a professional Greek-Italian translation, a job that takes into account not only the characteristics of the two languages, but also the social environment in which they are spoken. In this sense, it becomes essential to use native translators, the only ones who can preserve the meaning of the original text unaltered.

Professional translations taken care of in every detail

In addition to choosing the best translator from your target business sector, we use innovative tools aimed at simplifying the implementation of your translation projects to achieve professional translations with attention to every detail.

Modern Greek: a young language

Modern Greek did not become an official language until 1976, following a reform that saw it take precedence over learned Greek, a close relative of Classical Greek and used only by very few people in increasingly restricted contexts. This variant could do nothing against the advance in Neo-Greek, spoken by the vast majority of the population and significantly simpler than the classical language. Recently canonized, Modern Greek has a strong simplification of grammar and accentuation, as well as many lexical influences from Italian and Turkish. In addition, in the wake of the dialects of the classical era, some linguistic differences between regions remain even today.

How a translation agency works

Listening carefully to the client's needs is of paramount importance to us at Eurotrad. In fact, we believe that this is the only way to achieve the set goals. Based on this preliminary analysis, we decide how to proceed, using a customized approach on a case-by-case basis.

The project manager decides which professional to assign to each translation, evaluating the subject matter to be covered. This is because there are many differences, for example, between translations from (or into) Greek in science, advertising, tourism, etc. Depending on the topic, the translator who can best deal with it is chosen. And as with clients, the relationship with our collaborators is also based on listening and mutual exchange of suggestions along the way.
