Greek translation services

When working with a language as diverse as Greek, mother-tongue translators and competent proofreaders are vital in order to produce an effective Italian to Greek translation. At Eurotrad, we only work with the very best professionals in order to guarantee impeccable results.

Professional Greek to Italian and Italian to Greek translation

Modern Greek is spoken by approximately 15 million people around the globe, most of whom are concentrated in Greece and Cyprus, as well as in a few substantial linguistic pockets in other European countries, such as Albania and Turkey. And that’s not forgetting the large Greek community in the United States and Canada.

We’re talking about a language that is only a distant relative of Classical Greek and one that is characterised by simplified grammar and varied pronunciation. What remains unchanged, however, is the Greek alphabet, which shares many features (and a few differences) with the Latin alphabet.

When it comes to our professional Greek translation services into Italian, we make sure to take into account the characteristics of both languages, as well as the social context in which they are spoken. That’s why we only use mother-tongue translators who are able to preserve a text’s original meaning in translation.

Modern Greek: a young language

Modern Greek only became an official language of Greece back in 1976, following a reform that saw it prevail over Academic Greek, a close relative of Classical Greek that is only used by a few people in increasingly narrow contexts. However, Academic Greek had no real bearing on the advancement of Modern Greek, which is now spoken by the majority of the population and is decidedly simpler than the classical language. Recently sanctioned as the official language, Modern Greek involves simpler grammar and emphasis in comparison to its older counterpart, as well as numerous influences from languages such as Italian and Turkish. Due to a variety of different dialects, a few marked linguistic differences can still be found between various Greek regions.

How our Greek translation agency works

Listening to customer needs is of paramount importance to us at Eurotrad. In fact, we believe that it’s the best way to achieve our goals. After a preliminary assessment, we decide how best to proceed with the task at hand, adopting a personalised approach on a case-by-case basis.

Our project managers only select the right translator for the job after evaluating the subject matter, as translations from Greek (or into Greek) in the scientific, advertising and tourism fields often differ greatly. Depending on the subject matter at hand, our in-house members of staff select the most suitable collaborator, building professional relationships with our employees and customers based on listening and reciprocal suggestions.

We offer a wide range of services

We offer so much more than translation, layout and content-checking services. We also provide advice on the way messages are conveyed in text. However, that’s not to say that the way a text is formatted is not also of great importance, especially when it comes to advertising texts. That’s why Eurotrad relies on an in-house team of professional graphic designers and layout experts, who are able to take any message and convey it in the right style, because we know that content needs to be coherent in order to be as effective as possible. At Eurotrad, we have always focused on providing our customers with the services they need in order to develop effective channels of communication and grow their business.
